The Bermuda Match Play Championships will be held at Port Royal Golf Course from from Friday, 14th April – Sunday, 16th April, 2023.
Handicaps: This is a gross event and no handicaps will be used.
Divisions:
Men’s Championship – Black Tees
Senior Men’s Championship – White Tees
Ladies Championship – Red Tees
Entry Fee:
$270 per person (inclusive of Cart)
$195 – Port Royal Members and Juniors
Event Schedule:
Friday, 14th April – Stroke Play Qualifier
Saturday, 15th April – Match Play
Sunday, 16th April – Match Play
The championship will be in two stages:
1) Stroke Play – 18 holes of stroke play will determine the qualifying order for match play. The defending champion may elect to forgo qualifying and take the #1 seed for the championship. A tie for the last qualifying place will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff.
Note: Should it not be possible to complete the qualifying round due to inclement weather, players will be seeded in their respective divisions based on their handicap index as of April 14th, 2023.
2) Match Play – General Numeric Draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in qualifying rounds will be broken by the R&A and USGA approved method of matching scorecards, except that places of those participating in a playoff will be determined by their performance in the playoff.
Friday, April 14th – Registration at Port Royal clubhouse from 8:00am onwards
Stroke Play Qualifying Round; All divisions; Play will begin off 1st tee at 8.30am
Saturday, April 15th
First Round; All divisions, 18 holes; Play will begin off 1st tee at 7:30am
Second Round + Consolation; Men & Ladies, 18 holes; Play will begin at 12:30pm
Sunday, April 16th
Semi-Finals + Consolation; All divisions, 18 holes; Play will begin off 1st tee at 7:30am
Finals + Consolation; All divisions, 18 holes; Play will begin at 12:30pm
