The Butterfield Bermuda Championship Local Qualifier will be held Port Royal Golf Club on Tuesday, 12th & Wednesday, 13th October, 2021. It is intended to provide an opportunity for Bermudian amateur and professional players to qualify for four qualifying places (and four alternates) in the Bermuda Championship (PGA TOUR event) which is scheduled to be played at Port Royal Golf Course from Thursday, 28th October – Sunday, 31st October

Entries are open to Amateur and Professional players and applicants for reinstatement. To be eligible to compete in the local qualifying event, participants must meet the following criteria:
i)     Players must possess Bermudian status.
ii)    Players must be in good standing with the BGA and BPGA and not subject to any disciplinary process or sanction of either Association.
iii)   Amateurs and applicants for reinstatement must have an up-to-date handicap index, or equivalent handicap issued from an international body of golf, not exceeding 1.4 under the USGA Handicap System.
Note: A player’s current eight counting handicap scores cannot include scores prior to October 1, 2020.

The event is a 36-hole individual stroke play competition.  Players will be paired in groups of three and all participants will play:

Black Tees – (6,539 yards; 73.1 / 130)

Round 1 – Tuesday, 12th October, 2021 – Tee times will begin at 8.00am.
Round 2 – Wednesday, 13th October, 2021 – Tee times will begin at 8.00am.

Entry Fee: $125.00 per player.

Bermudians who are located overseas, or intend to travel beforehand with the intention of returning for the Bermuda Championship Qualifier, should be aware they will need to fully comply with COVID-19 travel requirements as stipulated by the Bermuda Government, and should factor this, including any time potentially required for quarantine, into their travel arrangements.

Travel Information
Returning residents (including caddies) from overseas MUST include their intended date of arrival on the island on the Official Entry Form. Player entries will NOT be accepted if this information is not provided.

At all times, player’s and caddies will be required to fully comply with the general current Covid-19 guidelines as stipulated by the Bermuda Government as well as specific rules relating to the event as may be provided by the organizing committee and/or Port Royal Golf Club. The committee reserves the right to disqualify a player for non-compliance with any Covid-19 rule, regulation or guideline.

Players wishing to enter who have been overseas and will be returning to Bermuda after 1st October, 2020 must notify the Tournament Committee of their intended date of return to Bermuda by completing the printed entry form.
