2013 Bermuda Open Results – Day 1

Results for the first day of the Bermuda Open can be found below.
Leading the Professionals after the fist day of place is Ian Doig from Canada who posted a great round today despite suffering from the flu. Claude Grenier, who is currently tied with Eric West, led for the majority of the day until Doig turned in his card and knocked him off the top spot. Scott Barnett leads the amateurs by 7 on his home course of Port Royal whilst 16 year old Cory DeSilva, the youngest player in the tournament, is not far behind. …
Today’s conditions combined with extremely fast greens proved to be quite challenging for the players who commented that on some of the greens it was like “putting on ice”.  The wind on the back nine combined with challenging pin placements helped a number of players turn in higher scores than they had hoped for.
Play resumes tomorrow for Round 2 of the four day tournament.
