Perry SwensonLPGA Futures Tour player Perry Swenson made history when she became the first female professional to compete in the Bermuda Open. Playing from the championship tees, Swenson carded a 56-over-par total of 340 for last place among the professionals to complete the tournament.

Bermuda Match Play Championship

The Qualifying Round of the Bermuda Amateur Match Play Championship took place today at the Mid Ocean Club. 

With great weather in the forecast, scores were expected to be low. Mid Ocean Member, Jonathan Ingham was the Men's Medalist with a fine score of 75, while Katrin Burnie, another Mid Ocean Member, took top honors as the Ladies Medalist with a score of 80. 

Matches start tomorrow morning at 7:44am with the Ladies Championship Flight followed by the Men's Championship Flight.

February Monthly Medal

The monthly medal for February was held at Belmont on Saturday (February 27, 2010). Course conditions were tough, with a stronger wind than most had anticipated.

In the men's division, Nick Jones placed first with a score of 73, followed closely by Hav Trott with a score of 74.  In the ladies' division, Ann Symonds finished first with a score of 87, followed by Tracy Nash with a score of 88.

The next month medal will be held at Ocean View on March 27th, 2010. Tee times starting from 1:00pm.

Bacardi National Par-3 Championship

The Fairmont Southampton and Bacardi International announce the new Bacardi National Par-3 Championship, a two-day, 36-hole championship golf tournament to be played at The Fairmont Southampton on April 10-11, 2010. A Pro-Am will be played on Friday, April 9. The tournament, which will be an annual event, will this year benefit the Bermuda Red Cross.

Brennan Webb Brennan Webb Brennan Webb was born in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada. Brennan's father, Ron Webb, is the golf pro at South Muskoka Golf Club. Brennan played the Nationwide Tour in 2009. Brennan was the runner up in the 2010 Bermuda Open, narrowly missing a playoff when his par putt slid by the hole. Read more...
